Yoto club - I'm being thick

I may be thick but can anyone explain how it works?
It seems to me that for £30 a year I get unlimited access so surely why would I buy the cards? I'm obviously missing something....

Any help much appreciated!

£30 is for access to Yoto Originals- cards made by Yoto themselves which have stories/scripts written by them. Some of them are familiar (fairy tales etc) but none (as far as I know) are by “known” authors.

The cards which have content by “known” authors are the ones you have to pay more for. Those are on the higher tiers of Yoto Club- £70 a year for one card a month, £120 a year for two.

Oh I see. Oh that makes more sense. Have you signed up, are they any good?

We never have bought anything other than make your own cards and then just make out own playlists in my yoto.

We do it. It’s great for random little stories, songs etc… there’s some great interest cards that are interesting for when he’s got a special interest… it’s saved me a fortune in dinosaur cards 😂

But the cards he loves - Julia Donaldson, Cars, Dino Rock, Paddington etc… we own those, we don’t need WiFi to play them, he loves them.

I don’t really rate the Yoto Originals we have listened to. They’re fine, but my son doesn’t really find them that interesting. He never asks to listen to them again, unlike his other cards. I wouldn’t pay for the £30 a year membership.

We have the two card a month membership and my son loves it. There’s a good range of cards available in the Yoto Club (not every card is available) so we’ve always been able to find enough that he likes. We’ll probably drop down to 1 card a month soon as he’s racked up quite a collection now.

Oh that's interesting. Is that still available do you know? I couldn't see this offer
