Keeping things made by your children

I have kept 99% of everything my children have ever made at playschool, nursery or primary school and this morning it dawned on me why. I have nothing at all from my childhood excpet for 2 soft toys and half a dozen photos. Nothing I made, nothing else at all. I guess that is why I keep everything but I think I need to be a bit more selective about what we save and a bit less hung up about it. What's the betting they aren't bothered about most of it when they are older?
