Teething Molars 😩…

Not really sure what I’m expecting from this post … maybe some solidarity. Because I’m on my ass…

DS 14 months, has cut 3 molars in the space of a month… it has been non stop. And now, he’s starting his fourth! I can feel the tooth when I rub ontop of the gum, so it’s on its way, however the bottom one has currently only poked through a tiny bit.. the top two the fronts seem to have pushed through but not the full tooth… how long does this last??

He has handled teething relatively well up until this point, a couple of days of irritability, some nurofen and calpol and he’s happy enough, and it’s never really effected his sleep/eating etc.

THIS THOUGH… we’ve gone from sleeping 6.30/7pm - 6.30/7am with a 2 hour nap in the day, to waking in the night, some nights awake every hour hysterical, early wakes of 4am … 5am pretty consistently, Off food, and honestly, he’s turned into the devil. He’s gone from my happy, placid baby, to feral, agitated, aggressive, and quiet literally does not stop whinging and crying all day from the minute he wakes, until he goes to sleep.
Weve had reoccurring nappy rashes, because he’s pooping so much constantly, which causes yet more upset and battles…

and all this has coincided with my return to work and him starting nursery. I’m at my wits end.

I’ve thrown everything at it, calpol, nurofen, ambesol liquid, teething granules, teething rings, beads, cold flannel, cold hard food, comfort, distraction.. everything you can do, I’ve done.

Hes miserable, we’re miserable.

Sending you a big hug, teething is hellish, and the molars are another level. This will end! But it’s so very hard while you’re in it

Thank you @fizzysoda- aren’t they just. I’ve been sat here she’ll shocked for the last month wondering where my baby went?! 😂 it’s no joke. Wish I could see an end in sight…

My son's first 2 molars coincided with our 3 week summer holiday abroad. It was hell. I was miserable. Wished I never had children. Touched out (he started breastfeeding like crazy). Thought I couldn't survive it. Genuinely thought i will collapse from sleep deprivation. We were with my parents as well, who were not even helpful. Kept calling my son "bad", I kept trying to explain he wasn't himself etc etc.

I lived to tell the tale.
