Hi all,

looking for some advice please. My 12 week old baby HATES the car seat. She will cry and cry in it to the point she is sick. Thankfully, my partner has been in the car when this has happened and managed to get her out as she’s nearly chocked twice.

it’s becoming problematic and with a toddler we need to drive places. Has anyone else had the same issue? Any advice how to make it better?

thank you xx

Time. It will pass.

Mine where like this when babies. Turns out DD was travel sick, not sure what you can do about that. DS was much happier when we moved him into the next size up car seat, but that wasn't until 9 months. It was still a rear facing seat just a larger size and he wasn't as scrunched up as in the baby seat.

I don't know what alternatives are available now but might be worth a look at a different type of seat.

I would try the front seat. Airbag off obviously. But in case it’s because she can’t see you.

Also if you’re using an infant carrier then you could try a fixed birth to 4 years type one to see if baby is more comfortable in that.

Honestly we got a tablet holder and put baby sensory videos on the tablet as a distraction. While I would usually never go for screens so young obviously, I figured a screen was better than just screaming distress, for car journeys only.

Oh and also sounds silly but do double check there’s nothing sharp or pointy or uncomfortable in the car seat

Think I’ll have to try this!! Thank you xx
