Aptimal recall and changing to kendamil

My boy has been ill for weeks, explosive poo’s yellow water 💦 and not wanting the bottle.

i went to Morrisons today and even though we knew there was a recall the batch wasn’t the same as ours, when I got to Morrisons I was shocked to see the whole shelf emptied along with cow and gate.

aptamals site dose say 1 batch but the supermarket has a list of about 8/10 😡

we are now trying kendamil but the site dose say to swap slowly, not a chance!

my question is has anyone just changed milks without a gradual swop?

I did a couple of times when my son was little. it did him no harm.

Yes we swapped from Aptamil to Cow and Gate and it was fine - no reason other than price.

With my second I was given lots of forumla
from different brands - Apatamil, kendamil, and others and we also bought Cow and Gate. We didn’t have any issues and baby had no preference.

I think it really depends on the baby. There’s no harm in trying.

Interestingly when I ran out of Kendamil back in the day and couldn’t get my hands on any Aptamil was the closest formula to it so I think the change won’t be as drastic. LO can be a little constipated for a while if anything but you should be okay

They say it so their bowel movements dont drastically change in which it will anyway.
I changed my babys milk at 2 week old from SMA to cow and gate. He had severe constipation with SMA, so changed him to c&g comfort. The HV wasnt pleased but i didnt care.
I then changed him from comfort to normal c&g at 6 week old and havent switched since.
But these havent been gradual and LO has been absolutely fine, regular bowel movements and hes drinking better overall. Hes now 11 week old on 6oz of milk every 4 hours😂

It doesnt hurt them to switch. Sometimes people will be on their last scoop of milk and change. You cant buy the old milk otherwise you'd be stuck with milk your no longer using.

Its fine x
