Hey guys im wondering if anyone can help as I am loosing my mind! My daughter has just turned 4 and is terrified to sleep in her own bed. She only wants me, she never used to have this problem and always slept amazingly as a baby. When she was poorly a couple of months ago we let her sleep in our bed to make sure she was ok and didnt wake up her baby brother. We have since tried making her room more girly, she has fairy lights, tonie box new pj's even a big girl bed. Nothing seems to work! This evening she doesn't want to even sleep with us and says she has to go downstairs and is absolutely hysterically crying. I am at my wits end I dont know what to do or where to go with this!

I hope you’ve managed to get her off to sleep by now.

Maybe it’s worth having a chat tomorrow when she’s calm to find out what it is she’s scared of. You could introduce a worry monster to put her worries in.

There’s some nice books available that might help. My dd used to love ‘the owl who was afraid of the dark’ and ‘silly billy’ about a boy who was scared at nighttime.
