Any Swedish, Danish, Norwegian speaking mums in West Yorkshire?

Hi, I am hoping to find other mums in West Yorskhrie who are from any of the Nordic countries to share thoughts and expereinces with in regards to living in the UK raising children.

I am a 27 year old Swede with a 2 week old son who is married to an English man and have now lived in the UK for the last 5 years.

I sympathise with you, Tessan, though I realise it was some time ago that you posted your message. I'm a Swedish mother living in the Staffordshire/Derbyshire area. My husband is british and I am the only Swedish/Nordic speaking influence in my 1 yo son's life. I would love to get in touch with a Nordic mum but do not know of anyone around here either.

Have you tried the Svenska Mammor website? Appearently, they run a number of mother and child groups in the UK, however, when I checked few months ago you had to become a member before you could find out if there was a group meeting up near you. The membership fee wasn't that expensive but I got a little annoyed that I had to pay up before I could find out whether they would be of any interest to me, so I didn't join.

I am half Swedish and live just outside Bradford. I have a 16month old baby boy who I am speaking Swedish to. I'm pretty good at Swedish having been to school and uni there for various lengths on time, but I'm not perfect and would love to meet up with someone who has a baby around the same age so my little one has someone who he can talk to and to help me with my Swedish too!
