i have a 12 year old boy who used to be really good friends with our neighbour’s 3 boys and another 2 boys living nearby. One of those two boys had a fight with my son- both of them called each other names. My son accidentally said something (which he didn’t know had a racist connotation) so we made him apologise to the child and my husband then made them shake hands. The boy didn’t get over it and kept a grudge in his heart even after several days. All of them ganged up on my son and isolated him. After a week the rest of them were fine and playing with my son but as soon as the other boy came- he turned everybody against my son, they started teasing him and then filming him. When my son complained to my husband about the filming, the boy lied very confidently saying that he didn’t. My son is incapable of making up stories as he is very high-functioning autistic. He is very kind at heart and its heart-breaking for me to see him feeling isolated and having no friends in the neighbourhood. He has cried a few times and i have been really stressed. I have told him to try and make new friends but its not always easy. What should i do?
