hi all,
We have a 5 year old who just recently got over the flu or some type of viral infection. Doc believes influenza A. She was sick for about a week but now back to normal. We have noticed that this time she developed some petecheia spots (maybe 12) on her arm after this illness has gone through her system. Last week she had a few on her neck which faded after a couple days and are no longer there.
This also happened 2 years ago. She got sick and a few weeks later got some petecheia spots on her body. Again mostly on the inside of her arm. They would fade in a few days, she would be good for a week and they would return. All in all this happened within about 2 months.
brought her to our family doctor who was not concerned, our family doctor made an appointment with a specialist who was also not concerned but sent us for blood work just to be safe. Blood work came back all clear and we moved on.
She has been good for about 2 years not getting any of these spots. When she gets them, they are not widespread but only localized to a small area and maybe only 10 or so spots all together.
Our question is has anyone else had experience with this? Do viral infections like the flu or Covid cause these spots to occur sometimes? I heard that when you get a viral infection it strains the blood vessels or something and can cause this.
Just looking for advice.
