I've posted here in the hope some people are up and MN'ing as I need to know before I take DS to nursery at 7.45...

The nursery have planned an outing and have sent out permission requests for the children to be taken in cars. It says that they will be in "a booster seat with seat belt". Would you think this meant adult seat belt? My DS is just 2 and so in a full car seat with 5 point harness and wouldn't really feel happy with him being in anything less. Are they allowed to take the children in the next stage booster? Am I being over-protective if I say I'm not happy for him to go unless he's in an age appropriate seat? They can always borrow his for the day. He's the youngest child going on the outing but I'm sure there are other children smaller than him at the nursery. What do you think?

I would take in his car seat. My DS is going on a trip today and will be going in a minibus - I hadn't thought about car seats. he is 4 so still needs one. At 2 he does need a proper seat.

thank you, I'm just worried about seeming over-protective but I actually think this is important. He's only just been moved up to the "big" room, ahead of his age but because he was bored so it's good for him in that sense but he is the youngest by quite a long shot and I worry about that on something like an outing.

I don't think you're being over-protective. If you're not happy, you're not happy that simple. Take his car seat in and if they can't use it, he doesn't go.
