10 week old dropping feeds (FF)

My babies 10 weeks old and we’ve always fed in a routine due to her loosing quite a bit of weight at birth and then dropping a centile once she dropped her bottle at night so since Saturday I’ve been feeding her ever 4ish hours 6,9:30,1:00,5:00,9:00 and for the first 4 days of doing it she was having around 725ml a day then since then she’s only drinking like 600ml - 650ml a day just turning her nose up after like 3.5-4oz. It’s only her first bottle of the day she’ll drink nearly 5oz.

I feel like she’s always tired/ sleeping too like yesterday we went out for the day from 8:30-5 she had about 2 1 hour awake times just asleep in her pram the whole time then she fell asleep at 7:30pm and stayed asleep until 8:30am I had to wake her for her 9pm and 6am bottle and she just fell asleep on them.

I am getting her weighed again Monday myself to make sure she is gaining weight.

Is it normal for them to go through a stage of not drinking much?

She’s only 10 weeks old. They still sleep loads during that time. You’ll find feeding, even when they get older into toddler years, some days they’ll eat loads and other days not so much.

My 3 DC were a mixture of breast fed and FF and all dropped the night feeds at this age and gained weight.

Unless you’ve been advised not to, I would feed her on demand. Yes, get her weighed but unless any concerns are raised, trust her instincts. I stopped timing feeds when mine made it back to birth weight and the midwives signed us off as no longer concerns about failure to thrive.

I think it’s the fact that she’s having no night feeds that makes it seem like she isn’t drinking much. My ff one was definitely waking for probably 2-3 feeds a night at that point. But it is normal for them to go through a phase of sleeping loads between 8-14 weeks. It’s probably the only time mine ever slept through (I mean, it happened a couple times). Then they are awake loads again from 14/16 weeks.

Just feed her whenever she wants it as much as she wants it. I’d be inclined to move away from tracking feeds (times/amounts) because when you’ve had a baby that struggled early on, it can produce a lot of worry.
