Toddler sensory issue?

My DS is 3 in a couple of months and has never been a fan of things on his hands such as body cream. Over the last few months, mealtimes have become quite stressful.

DS has meltdowns if even the tiniest bit of sauce or milk gets on his hands, the table or his fork. He screams, we wipe it away, and hep then carries on eating. This happens repeatedly throughout a meal.

We have tried putting a serviette on the table for him to use and sometimes he will use it, but often he is too frustrated to do so.

Has anyone been in a similar position? I am unsure what to do to help him.

Is this his only.sensory issue?.how is he with clothing? Bedding? Hair washing or cutting? Or other sensory stuff like.sound, taste etc?.

If it really is jist this one thing I would let it go and keep encouraging him to learn to wipe his hands himself. I would be worried about it being a bit compulsive but would watch and wait.

If its other things too then I would be considering Sensory Processing Disorder. Occupational therapist can diagnose and work with children to.help them.manage it.
