Baby has oral thrush!

Hi all, my DD 10 days old has been prescribed miconazole to help her oral thrush.
The DR said to put only at the front of her mouth to prevent choking.
I have read the instructions and it says categorically not to be given to babies under 4 months old.

im sure im fussing, I think I have postpartum anxiety as this is just one of many things. But my question is, has anyone else been prescribed this for their newborn baby?
Are their alternatives?
or do I trust that my GP has prescribed us the correct thing and follow the instructions.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

DD1 and DD2 both had miconazole under four months, although older than 10 days. With DD2 we tried something else first, I think Nystatin, as it was supposed to be safer, but it didn't properly get rid of it. She ended up with two courses of Nystatin and then a course of miconazole anyhow. Presumably it does do the trick for some though!

Yes DD had this. Doctors can prescribe off licence meds. It happens a lot.

Okay. Thank you both so much.
I just wanted to double check. I’ve been extra anxious with everything and am reassured to know this is the norm.

hoping we have a speedy recovery.
