Hi
My lovely sister is expecting her second daughter (due almost 2 years after the first) so will be born in the same season.
I would obviously like to get them a gift for baby 2, but wondering if anyone has any ideas what would be useful/ practical/ lovely!
She has already said she doesn’t need anything in particular- and definitely not clothes, I have asked this.
im planning already to do a hamper for post birth for my sister. But struggling with a gift idea for baby!
thanks for your help and ideas!

Editing as I came up with all the food ideas but now I see you want something for the baby!

How about something personalised, so that they have a thing of their own as well as plenty of hand-me-downs? Something for their bedroom or a personalised book? Lots of lovely things on Etsy.

Cook vouchers so she can eat juggling 2. Much more useful. Baby has everything

oh my goodness! You’re both so right! Definitely food. I will ask her partner how the freezer space is and take it from there!

And I like the idea of adding some beauty products/ self care bits to her post partum hamper!

@HewasH2O Lovely idea- we both regularly do childcare for each others children so I am planning to carry on with this for her while she’s on mat leave (not expecting her to have my two obviously!!)

Definitely food! Deliveroo vouchers, M&S, Cook vouchers or delivery of frozen meals? Homemade meals, brownie deliveries - all very gratefully given or received.

I have three children and all gifts are lovely but I do have very many baby grows.

We received a towel with babies name on (second girl) it was lovely. Also own jellycat teddy (baby loves to pull it over their eyes to sleep). Own baby bowls eg bunnykins

Look on the website 'My 1st Years' they do lovely personalised blankets, dressing gowns, teddy bears, bags for babies and newborn stuff! x

Get the baby their own blanket; get everyone else “posh” ready meals - 48hrs worth of meals for me (veggie), dh, ds (3) with preprepped veg, puddings, custard, nice tea bags and lots of biscuits was the best present we got - i remember it well 14 years later!

My second is now 16 weeks old and despite being nearly exactly the same size as my gitst (30g difference) I have needed to buy separate clothes as he's a different shape to my first. She was fine with first or <1m clothes but he needed <7lb clothes for the first 6-8 weeks.

I hated sleep suits with my first and she was all limbs and it was a nightmare trying to get all 4 limbs in the sleep suit and get it fastened. 2nd is happy to be dressed.

First baby screamed and was never out of my arms. Second loves being laid on the floor. We have a mat that has had so much use and my first wouldn't have gone near it
