Baby head shape looks weird?

My baby is a month old.

I noticed the other day that her head kind of ‘dips in’ above her cheeks.

I’ve googled it and now convinced myself she has something wrong with her.

Does this look normal to you?

It looks like chubby cheeks to me.

I think a lot of baby’s have weird head shapes but they grow out of them. I think your baby’s hair makes the shape look more defined than it probably is.
Your baby is beautiful xx

Aah she’s gorgeous OP. Congratulations! As previous pp said it’s probably the combination of her chubby cheeks and the way her hair lies. She looks perfect to me and I wouldn’t have noticed either of those things if you hadn’t mentioned them. Don’t forget also that head shape can take a while to ‘settle down’ after birth. Don’t let anyone make you feel daft about your concern - your DD is lucky to have a mum who cares so much.

How was she delivered?

gorgeous baby! my now 17yo has this to the extent that she says “I have no bridge to my nose” she finds sun/glasses difficult, nothing else physically diagnosed with her.

my DD still has big cheeks too

I think she looks normal. Mention it to your health visitor if you’re worried.

We have family in the US, and so many people seem to get their perfectly normal looking babies into those helmets now.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with her head shape. You sound like you're overthinking things. Chill girl 😉 Remember ' comparison is the thief of joy'

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 28/12/2025 12:31

Nope, looks like a "normal" very cute baby to me.
She's gorgeous, enjoy her x

Wynter25 · 28/12/2025 12:31

Looks normal to me. Shes a cutie x

Ketzele · 28/12/2025 12:34

I love a hairy baby! She looks sweet and normal to me, but do ask your HV to put your mind at rest.

Zov · 28/12/2025 12:36

She looks fine @Dulcie6 Even so, let's suppose we're missing something, and her head is a little odd shaped, it will correct itself over the coming months.

My friend had her baby delivered by ventouse, and the baby had a cone shaped head for what seemed like ages..... Quite noticeable! Then when she was around 6 months old we all suddenly noticed her head looked a normal shape! Not sure when it 'changed' and corrected itself, but it did! 😆

Thanks everyone!

I’m a bit OTT this time round! It’s my 3rd baby and I was so ill during pregnancy that I was gobsmacked when she came out alive and with the correct amount of eyes, fingers, toes (appreciate that sounds wild 🤣).

I imagine I’m just overthinking everything! She was born via C section for the lady that asked x

Bless you x

I asked in case the delivery was with forceps as I think they can indent slightly
