Has anyone tried using soap nuts instead of detergent to wash reusables?

I haven't tried them on nappies, but I have used them on ordinary clothes and tbh I don't think they worked any better than water alone so I went back to normal detergent.

Am using soapnuts on DS2's clothes as he has eczema which seems to be irritated by washing powder. I am desperate to like them but they don't actually get any stains out and clothes end up smelling rather musty!

We've got hard water and I use them all the time, with my whites & pink/red washes I add a little bio detergent as well to remove the stains.

I loved them with nappies

Rizlated, have you tried Filetti? I find it's quite gentle on ds's eczema.
