Anyone else DC had flu or high fever? My daughter had fever for 7 days and doctor said it normal but i said it’s not for her so he gave me antibiotics for her which helped but now 4 days after she has another fever again?! anyone else had this?

My dc often h ad high temperatures at that age, they caught every bug going. I suspect this is a new virus as you are so much more vulnerable when already ill.
I assume you have checked thoroughly for a rash?

How high a temp? When did they did start antibiotics? What did they day antibotics were for? Antibotics only work on bacterial infections and the flu is viral. How old is your child?

Is the fever treatable with calpol? Did they have the flu vaccine? Being ill for ages with flu isn’t so unusual, trying to treat it with antibiotics i would consider unusual. Did they think it was a second illness/bug?

yeah she has glue ear and said her ears are red inside and suspected the long fever was due to ear infection. But now fever is back again , one moment she is fine and playing etc then next crashes down with high fever does not want to move? thenfine once had nurofen again! just feel like she is living off calpol and nurofen. We have online private consult with doctor in morning just wondered if anyone else child had same or along those lines as worried it’s influenza as symptoms match most of her on NHS site?!
