Is this creative, mad or just very normal 3 yo activity???

Pics on profile.

ds created his funfair vision over an hour or so in the garden t'other morning. I was impressed by the careful lining up of all the toys (and even more impressed that dd had respected his vision!) - but slightly perturbed as I am so opposite to this and so is dh! There are family members with OCD tendencies and I can't help wondering ... or am I being totally precious, ridiculous and over analysing something very innocuous?

Please MN give me a virtual slap and put me back in my box.

Cheers.

Totally normal as far as I know...
and looks loads of fun.
Bless...

I think its all three
And rather fabulous
I don't know much about ocd, but my three year old likes to do this kind vf thing too, and he would be impressed by the scale of your ds ambition

Just thought is ds your only boy?
This is a very boy thing to do..both mine did and it doesn't last long.

Thank you - I was wondering if it ws a boy thing as dh does admit to lining up his matchbox cars. Just I am so messy and disorganised I find it hard to believe i could have made someone so meticulous (just wish I could have a bit of it - my house would run like clockwork)!

DD is much more of a bull in a china shop - I recognise that

how on earth did he manage to upturn everything?!

handlemecarefully · 11/06/2008 00:05

Creative and quite clever I think!

S1ur · 11/06/2008 00:06

all dcs do this, ahem.......
my dcs ocd tendancies include:
filling bags to the brim with random shite
lining up aimals/whatever and just so, forget it if one falls over
arranging tea parties with everyone getting a fair share
organising circus acts involving much apparatus

I could go on but I'm a bit bored tbh. tis fine and fab.

S1ur · 11/06/2008 00:07

ooooh no girl thing to.

weirdly therapeutic, am very disorganise sometimes but its like colouring in, sort of mindless and involving you know?

jamila169 · 11/06/2008 00:36

definately a kid thing -mine created a huge sculptural thing out of garden tools, and eletric car, tractor, rocker, clothes props and umpteen other things -twas about 5 feet high and so interwoven it took me 40 minutes to disentangle everything! DS2 is the evil genius with anything like that , give him a ball of string and the lounge ends up looking like a security system from mission impossible
