Travel Alsrm for Solo Traveller

My child wants to go solo travelling after her IB exams.

I don’t want to dampen her spirits but I am very concern and worried.

Can someone recommend a reliable travel alarm.

Is a wearable alarm like a watch better than those that you clip onto your bag? Should I give her a pepper spray on top of the alarm?

Surely, she doesn’t need an alarm. She’s not a car. 😂

What she needs is life skills. She needs to be sensible and she needs to have practice managing herself independently in the world, and then maybe just make sure her location is on on her phone.

Does she have any experience travelling? Can she take the train with friends to a city a few hours away for the day and come back in the evening? What about a weekend away in your country? Facilitate some dry runs for her.

Yes she takes train to school so she is comfortable with public transport. She has experience of taking wrong train and being resourceful enough to know how to make her way back.

I am more concern about her safety and so think the alarm might be handy if she needs help, the alarm can alert people nearby to help her.
