Travel cot help!

Hi All

Just after some advice regarding travel cots. We bought a Joie Allura for our 5 month old son as we're going away for a few days.

It comes with one of those travel cot mattresses which doesn't look particularly comfy but the website says not to use anything additional, even a sheet?

Is this the case? I just want it to be as safe as possible as my son sleeps on his belly now so I don't want to add anything unsafe for him but also unsure about the breathability of the mattress that comes with the cot?

Does anyone have the same cot/similar and what do you do when you use it?

Thank you in advance from one nervous first time mum :)

Hello! You do pop a sheet on - it would be very sweaty otherwise. The mattresses don’t look at all comfy so what they don’t want you to do is pad it with pillows or bedding which wouldn’t be safe. A sheet is necessary though. My son sleeps extra well in travel cots, even though they are so hard! Have a lovely time away

Unsure on that particular cot but a friend told me that lots are the same size as a regular cot and so she brings the mattress from her regular cot away with them which I thought was absolutely genius

Thank you 😊 I've now ordered a sheet to go with it, hopefully that makes it a bit cosier and he'll sleep okay whilst we're away!
