Any good suggestions for persuading ds BACK into nappies for nights?

He's just over 4 & has decided he doesn't want them. But has wet the bed every night for the last two weeks. I don't want to undermine his confidence (he is supremely unbothered by his continued wetness) but I am a bit bored of washing things that smell of wee.
Any ideas, oh MN gurus?

I would either stick out and make sure he gets no liquid after 6 pm (although work for you!)
OR

tell him that they are BIG BOY for night time nappies and just buy him those pull up kind that he can still pull down like pants if he does wake up but are reasonably absorbant should he sleep through (huggies are quite good for this but expensive.

Agree with Bluebutterfly.

Ds1 went back to nappies after he'd been wetting the bed loads and I was fed up with changing and washing sheets every day. I was worried because he'd been so keen to be out of nappies at night. In the end we just called them pajama pants and he was happy.

Thanks both
Hummm, I might try & get some pull-ups, but he has historically always rejected pull-ups out of hand (no idea why!) Perhaps if he gets to choose the picture he'll be more pliable [hopeful]

hi, have you tried lifting her for a wee just before you go to bed, we have to do that for step DD (4) she has a big wee and goes back to sleep, then she's dry in the morning, the odd time we don't she wets the bed

funnypeculiar · 10/06/2008 18:19

Was trying to avoid it, memoo, as I kind of feel like I'd rather wait til he can manage himself or not bother, iykwim. If he's adamant tonight I might give in though

I do understand, Step daughter is only with us every other weekend, but if it was all the time it would do my head in. Mummypig's idea is good about calling nappies 'pajama apnts'

Also have you tried these

They look cool, meemo - thanks

he might not mind wearing them cos they look like shorts rather than nappies
