Snot on sleeves

DS (age 7 😭) is still not using tissues at school and instead coming home with disgusting smears on trousers and jumper. I have tried giving him packs, placing packs of tissues in all pockets, literally putting a tissue in his hand at the start of the day, telling him about the potential social consequences of this as he gets older...

Please please Mumsnet TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS!!!!

Have you tried rewards? Like if he comes home with clean sleeves he gets a treat? Could put them in a jar so treats are visible and motivating. Also nose blowing practice? My nearly 10yr old is rubbish at blowing her nose, she just seems to find it difficult. Maybe because of this I made more effort to teach technique to my now 7yr old when she was younger and she blows her nose like a champ.

My 7yo DS is dreadful for it. He has to have fresh uniform each day. My poor washing machine & dryer.

@Jollyjoy no, I haven't (slightly shamefully!). Maybe I'll try that. I've tried lots of practice with nose blowing - we've done the candle thing that I've seen recommended here - but he just seems to revert back to the old pick and smear!

@TheOriginalCrazyLady I know it doesn't help either of us, but I am glad that I'm not alone!
