What time are we putting our 3 month old babies down for bed?

You're going to get different answers here. Mine went down at 7pm, they naturally settled for bed at that time. However, some will go down properly 9/10pm.

Whatever time I went to bed at that age. I don't think we started putting her down at the same time every night, until about 5 months. Then it was 7:30.

ShelbyPa1991 · 12/12/2025 12:45

@Mummyboy1we are doing 7pm at the moment but recently she has started waking at 4/5am so I’m wondering about trialling a later bedtime.

@ShelbyPa1991 are they ready for the day? How much sleep are they getting during the day?

ShelbyPa1991 · 12/12/2025 13:00

@Mummyboy1usually 4 or 5 naps of 1hour or 45minutes.

We were keeping baby with us til 9/10pm, i didnt feel comfortable leaving her alone asleep til closer to 6 months due to SIDS risk

ShelbyPa1991 · 12/12/2025 13:05

@Peonies12 no no noooooo, not left alone. I’m not comfortable leaving her alone. I’ll sit and read in the room when she goes down.

They change so fast at this point as they get better at consolidating night sleep

CookiesCoffeeBaileys123 · 12/12/2025 18:50

At that age, quite late. He naturally wanted an earlier bedtime around 4 months.

Before that, he would treat any pre-10pm sleep like a nap i.e. sleep for 45 minutes and be wide awake for ages.

Peanut91 · 12/12/2025 19:01

Start feeding at around 7 and she goes down between 7.30 and 8pm. She is four months now but been doing this for about a month now

ShelbyPa1991 · 12/12/2025 22:06

@Peanut91what time does your little one wake?

OP posts:
Peanut91 · 12/12/2025 22:08

Night wakings aside she is usually up for the day between 6.30-7am

mondaytosunday · 12/12/2025 22:21

7-7.30. Got them in a routine from first day home. By three months they settled down well and rarely woke up until I gave them a sleepy feed before I went to bed.
I never found a way to stop early wake ups - not as early as yours but my son was often up for the day at 5.30am. He’s still an early bird at 22!
