Do your kids watch TV / spend time with you in the evenings?

I have 3 kids DS 13, DD 11 and DS 7 and its only ever the youngest who wants to spend time with me, the eldest goes up to his room to game with friends and my middle one just takes herself to her room to watch phones /TV there, is this normal?

How can I encourage them to sit in the lounge with me?

Mine and 8 and 11. They’ll watch some shows with us, Gladiators, The Traitors, Friends, snooker, football etc. Not all the time. Gladiators is the only thing we will watch religiously.

11 and 13 are quite normal ages for kids to start becoming tweens/teens and wanting to do their own thing with friends. Online and outside into parks etc.

Don't worry OP, they'll be back. It's part of growing up. Just guide them not to get in with the wrong crowd.

No, they prefer to be gaming, watching their own tv programmes or chatting to their friends. Happy to leave them to it. Can't think of anything more unpleasant than forcing teens to sit with you.

It sounds like the natural thing male children do. Young child stick with mother the older children want to stay in their room. You could try having a movie night. The movie would have to be something you will all enjoy. Eddie murphy does it for me.
