Finding nursery bugs relentless - feeling so anxious!

My DD has started nursery 3 days a week since October, and she’s poorly or has a high temp every 2 weeks. She was on anti biotics 4 weeks ago and it took a good two weeks for her to feel herself again and now she’s poorly again with a temp!

I’m starting to get anxious about it now and don’t know what to do. It’s just so relentless, the sleepless nights, constantly checking her temperature or worried she’s not eating or drinking enough. I’m so tired.

Any words of wisdom? When will it get better? How do I cope?

My son is now in reception and we typically have six months of back to back/overlapping illnesses each winter. It's hideous.

Bless you OP, it’s such a worrying time and it feels never ending. But I promise you the first winter is the worst and it gets better from spring onwards! I remember with my eldest thinking this just couldn’t possibly be normal - we used to calculate how much money we were losing out on from nursery sick days. Now in year one and the only time he’s missed school has been for chicken pox, normal viruses just don’t have that much effect on him at all.

My youngest is in his second winter of nursery and it’s already so much better than it was this time last year.

It’s horrific and hard work but it is temporary, everything will seem much easier in spring and longer term your DC will have a better immune system because of it!

Sympathy OP. DGS began nursery in September and has also been ill more often than his DPs can cope with 💐
