My DD is 5 months old.

When will the HV/GP need to do more checks with her? Will they want to do behaviour/development checks etc?

Don't worry pagwatch I know that. that's why i've stopped going so much now cos they're there. If babyclub wasn't run by HV's i'd be going every week again.

Grin

Pagwatch, I prob wouldn't go if I wasn't so paranoid about his weight gain, oh and the fact that it gets me out of house for an hour.
I enjoy seeing over mums and having a chat, I enjoy the walk there, but mostly ignore the advice after I've spent a week fretting about what they've said against what I want to do.
My actual Hv is really nice but this other clinic is on the way to the high street so is just more convenient

pagwatch · 09/06/2008 21:29

littleboyblue · 09/06/2008 21:30

Yeah, probably

LuckySalem · 09/06/2008 21:34

Right thanks for everything I'm gonna grin and bear tomorrow.
Not talk to them except hello and when's the development checks and then hope they leave me alone.

Hi Lucky, are you around? How'd it go at the baby clinic?

LuckySalem · 10/06/2008 22:04

I chickened out i'm just a wuss and didn't want the hassle.

I rang instead (got enough of a talking to from that) I just have an 8 month check

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 10/06/2008 22:06

Ok. Nothing wrong with that. You found out what you wanted to know with minimum upset then.

LuckySalem · 10/06/2008 22:08

Yeh - I rang and got asked why I wasn't coming to babyclub and I said I didn't feel comfortable there and preferred to spend the day at my mums and although she didn't specifically say it, it felt like she was telling me I was being mean to DD for not going.
I'm just glad she didn't ask about solids.

Just ignore her. I take my ds to his grandparents as often as I can as I remember being a kid and it was just a big drag, so he can have family now and friends later. At 5months old, what is she actually missin that she can't get anywhere else? Maybe you sould look for a new baby club?

LuckySalem · 10/06/2008 22:13

Yeh I should but this is the only one I know of. There is one on a weds morning but its DP's day off so we always do stuff together then.

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 10/06/2008 22:15

Yeah I don't go to our local baby club which is a tues as dp is off then too so we try do things just us.
Next time you go ask the other mums if they go anywhere else. I've been 2 3 or 4 different places and see the same mums everywhere

LuckySalem · 10/06/2008 22:19

Will do.
Thanks for all this LBB
