5 month old doesn’t like close eye contact

My 5.month old looks at me from a distance like in his play mat and bouncer or cot and smiles when I make funny faces and occasionally chuckles softly . He plays well and interacts with toys and seems curious of his surroundings . He cries when I stop playing but up close lole when I hold him he looks outwards? Is this concerning ? He other position looks at me when there is a bit of distance

I think babies can get overwhelmed and overstimulated if eye contact is too intense, perhaps that's what's happening here?
