Okay - do I need any more nappies for this new baby?

Hiya, about to start on real nappies with DS3 (when he turns up next month). Reviewing what I have from DS2, I've got:

7 motherease
5 tots bots size 1 normal
3 tots bots size 1 fluffles
2 blueberries

Plus 3 motherease wraps

Question is, is that enough for a new born? Got lots and lots for older babies so not worried about that.

I'm thinking about getting three tots bots flexi tots, an ella's house bumhugger and two more wraps. Overkill?

Thats just under 2 days worth (depending on the poo production of your new born), so I think another 4 nappies is a good idea, but 3 wraps should be OK

I got by with 13 Tots bots and 2 motherease os when mine were tiny, and did a wash every 2 days (although I think it was often wash in the evening day one, morning day 3, and I just used disposables for the first few weeks) so it wouldn't be impossible.
A few extra would have been cool to take the pressure off, and it'd be good to try the flexi tots

i think you'll be ok because the fluffles dry so fast so just make sure you always use them first.

I got by with 6 tots size 1s, 2 fluffles and 4-6 terries plus 4 wraps (so very similar). Like you I had heaps for a bigger baby, before long you can use size 2s overnight if you're stuck (and if you don't mind an ENORMOUS bottom!)

dd is 4 days old and I'm contemplating "the change" to cloth. i'm doing it anyway with my toddler so even if I just do 1/2 a day that'll be good.

I think so - DS1 is 12 days old and went straight into his bamboozles (he's a bit of a butterball ) - we have 18 but that has been more than enough to keep him going despite him being a heavy wetter.

Wish I had your motherease wraps though.....silly totsbots ones are leaky

Strange how right it feels using cloth o na newborn - mine fit far better than disposables and are so lovely and soft next to his skin.

Thanks all. BigBadMouse, agree on the wraps, motherease are fab. I have risked getting the new tots bots wrap though - orange with stars. We'll see. Also, couldn't really resist the flexitots... Oops. Nappy addict.

Well it's all very bizarre - my blue stars wraps don't leak but the yellow spots wraps do (aroung the legs) so maybe you'll get lucky with your stars ones too. Don't blame you for not being able to resist them -motherease are not quite so exciting in the pattern dept IYSWIM and the orange stars wrap is sooo cute
