What age did your DC have their first sleepover?

DS is 5 so sleepovers are not something in his near future. However it did get me wondering when he will start asking for a sleepover.

So my question is, when did your DC have their first sleepover?

i think my first proper one was probably around 7 years old. And I loved it!

Dd was maybe around 8, but I’d say not often until maybe 9/10.

Ds is 7 and has only done Beavers camps (since 6). I don’t think boys have sleepovers as much as girls do though.

Do you mean with family, with school/Beavers/Rainbows or with a friend?

Mine have never had family sleepovers but I know many who have from babies. My children have been to and reciprocated friendship sleepovers from around the age of six and it’s normal for Beavers and Rainbows at the same age of from seven with school.

Ah yes - I should have clarified, I meant with a friend.

Mine were younger and it was only when I came on mumsnet after that I thought about the potential risk. Around 3 with a friend from nursery - they loved it. So for her 5th birthday I invited 6 new friends from reception, thinking it was normal, and received 3 ‘no’ responses so we switched to a pyjama party and did the sleepover party when she was 6, same friends.
