Sleep sack for baby 7-8lb

Hi, just wondering if anyone can recommend a sleeping bag for smaller babies? DD is about 3.4kg at 8 weeks but gaining well. She's swaddled in blankets still but starting to move arms in ways that I'm worried will lead to blanket on face!

Ideally 3.5 tog (north, cold nights) with sleeves?

She's my second but I only have the bigger baby ones from first DC. Had a look at slumber sac but they do it by length not weight, and she's petite so don't want her slipping down inside

Also any reminders on how you get them into a bag from blankets which suppress arm waving without ruining sleep appreciated!

I used tommee tippee grobags at this stage. You can button the arm holes so their arms are swaddled though I didn't do this.

People also swear by the love to dream ones, which keep the arms in too.

We’re using the Tommee tippee ones, love them! Baby seems nice and cosy, they are a bit pricey but there’s lots on Vinted.

We also used the grosnug ones. They don't (or didn't) do a 3.5 in the smallest size, so with our winter baby in Scotland, we added an extra layer underneath. She was long and thin, so this still gave a good fit. Obviously check they aren't getting too warm if you do that, though.

Can you get Alvi Mäxchen sleeping bags there? Here in Germany the hospital provides these for newborns to sleep in while they're there (a few nights as standard). They are pretty tiny!

We got ours gifted to us so no idea of brands but 5 week old baby settles well and doesn't slip down as we tuck the extra length under him.

We've got 1.5tog which he wears a vest and baby grow with and a 2.5tog which is just baby grow. Our room temp is around 19 celcius and he's very comfortable at that. On colder nights we might put a thicker baby grow on.

Our DS was 7lbs 7 and he fitted in the standard Snuz one.

We didn't even see the weight limit warning until months later. If their head can't wriggle down under it, be rest assured they are very safe regardless of weight recommendations.

If they are used to a swaddle id look at love to dream swaddles. Both of ours loved their arms up rather than wrapped and we used them from birth through to 6 months with the first. Second is now 12 weeks but startle reflex still strong so we still need the arms in the bag...at 8 weeks you have a while to go for startle reflex to fade so I would defo go with these. Annoyingly I just gave our newborn ones to a friend or I would have sent you them. Have a look on vinted as they grow through the sizes so fast 🤣

My tiny 6. week old is still in newborn Love to Dreams at 3.1kg. You could probably get the next size up for your baby as I think small covers from 3.5 kg. I also have some Tommee Tippee ones that I may try soon.

Hi all, baby is now 14 weeks and in a standard 2.5 bag but thank you for your thoughts, and I'm sure this thread will help someone in the future! She's my second and DEFINITELY my last haha!
