Bedtime with toddler and newborn

i just want to check I’m not doing anything obviously wrong re bed time … dc1 is 3 and dc2 is 4 weeks.

Dc1 bed time 7pm ish. Dc2 is ebf and cluster feeds in the eve and obviously likes to be held constantly. I use a sling but sometimes I do have to put dc2 down / delay her feed a little to physically help dc1 with some aspects of getting ready for bed 😅

basically does anyone get through a toddler and newborn bedtime without the newborn crying at some point?!!!

ps I then usually cluster feed dc2
post dc1 bed time until 8-9ish and then dc2 does go down.
pps DH helps but sometimes works late or shifts so not always in

I have a smaller age gap with mine but when DC2 was a newborn and my husband was working, I used a Babybjorn bouncer during DC1 bath/bedtimes (I was actually given two second hand bouncers, I kept one downstairs and one upstairs!).

I'd put the baby in the bouncer in the bathroom while DC1 had a bath, then carry the bouncer to the bedroom for Pjs, story, bedtime. Often bouncing the chair with my foot while reading a story to a toddler on my lap! Sometimes DC2 did cry but you just have to carry on and do your best, I'm sure you're doing a great job!

I have 2 under 2, one of which is also just a few weeks old and its bloody stressful sometimes especially bath and bed. I try to time it either so im getting toddler ready and into bed after baby has had bottle, or if baby is settled I put them in the Graco swing chair whilst I sort toddler. Someone ends up crying some of the time, myself included 😂but I only have one pair of hands and figure I'm doing my best and no one is being harmed so just do what I can.

Thanks both! Actually @PitterPatter23 thats helpful think I could do with a second bouncer upstairs too as I don’t have anywhere to put dc2 down in dc1s bedroom or bathroom ! May look into a second hand one as I don’t want to cart our downstairs bouncer around
