stopping breastfeeding

My son is 16 months and I'm very ready to stop breastfeeding and think he is too.

He only has one feed a day with me which is first thing in the morning, has cows milk before bed, will sometimes have a feed at nap time if he isnt at nursery and maybe an extra one if he doesnt feel well. He never wants boob unless hes super tired, never bothered during the day and will happily take a bottle at bed time.
Now that you have the context, the potential hurdle I have is that he often wakes at 5am and then co sleeps with us until 7am, he will only feed to sleep. I havent tried a bottle at this time but I want to avoid that if possible and try push the feed out until hes awake. We are able to rock him to sleep if he wakes in the night but we've never managed it at 5am, think his sleep pressure must be too low! so its either co sleep and feed or up for the day.
How do I stop?! have you managed a transition to co sleeping without boob?

tried teddies, comforters etc before and he has zero interest

We night weaned my 15 month old recently. I sent dad in to handle all wake ups. We put up with a 5am start though and a very tired baby for about a week unfortunately. He now sleeps until 6am but it's 8pm -6am whereas when i breastfed him and coslept he slept until 7.30 easily. So he now sleeps more in the day which is not great. He's teething now and I'm considering going back to BF for early mornings.
