How to bottle feed 4 months

I’m weaning my baby off the breast and finding bottle feeding confusing! He cried at the end today and think it was my technique. I suspect I kept stopping and starting too much but I didn’t want to overwhelm him. He kept turning to the side which I thought meant he’d had enough but then seemed to still want more. At the end he’d moan when I stopped but then seemed to be pulling away from the bottle and trying to move away. He did a burp mid way through so I think that was ok. Very confused by it! Feel like it should be straight forward but he was very unhappy, didn’t seem satisfied at all the end, just upset but then was also resisting the bottle. My question really is was I doing something wrong and what is the general technique?

Bottle feeding takes practice! We found the best advice for us was:

Sit baby almost upright, slightly tilted back. Hand behind neck/head to support.

Bottle in other hand, tip fully so there is no air going in as well as milk. If baby turns or stops suckling, drop the bottle down and then tip back up again if they show interest again - we tried to keep it in/near their mouth so they could easily suck again. Regular breaks for burping while they get the hang of it.

Look up paced feeding!

Sounds like in the first instance the flow isn’t right. Breast has the ‘right’ flow for baby so they are used to it. Finding the right test might take time. Switching at this point can be hard for baby.
