How do dummy chains work?

I know it sounds silly, but I bought this dummy chain and I do not know how to attach it to my son's dummy. Can anyone help, please?

Ususally there's a velcro loop that goes through the handle of the dummy, and the clip bit clips onto their clothes.

Is a wooden one with a loop of string at the end? You have to thread it through the dummy "handle" then over the dummy - does that make sense?

(or do us a link to the actual one, and we'll try to help).

i had one with rubber loop you stretch it round the dummy so you push circular handle through rubber loop so the loop sits round round part of dummy with handle through loop

and it had aslide catch so you pulled back slide to open clip then attatched to clothes and the pushed slide across again
