How to cope as single parent to 2 under 2?

Hello I was hoping someone could offer some advice on how to manage with 2 under 2? Discovered I'm pregnant and my son will be 18 months when the baby is born. I have split with husband due to domestic abuse and so it's just me, my son and the dog. My husband is claiming he has no job and can't contribute to anything so it's literally just me.

I'm not sure how nights would work with 2? Or even during the day ? I could send my son to nursery a few days during the week. I've also a sheep dog that needs about 2 hours of walking a day. Before anyone suggests it, the dog is part of the family and a bit of life line during all the stress so he's here to stay. I'll get a dog walker when it's too much

This sounds hard, I had 2 under two. Get a double pram, long walks with both and dog will kill a couple of hours. Try and get 18 month old to sleep in own room and have baby in with you. Lazy mornings watching a bit of CBeebies to give you a bit of a break. Low expectations! Easy teas, just concentrate on getting through the first couple of months until it seems normal. We did small soft plays where toddler can play by himself quite a lot and you and baby can cuddle on a couch.

@ohpoowhatnow yeah it's starting to freak me out thinking about it all! It's going to be really hard on my own but then my ex just added lots of stress and didn't help in the night - lots of shouting about being woken up and putting the duvet over his head and sleeping through it. Maybe in some ways knowing I'm on my own makes it easier than feeling let down and frustrated

Yes it means no resentment and frustrations towards him if your by yourself ! I know that feeling. If you can get toddler into childcare for a few days that will really help. You will manage good luck x

No advice but just a message to say you are amazing and will be setting the most incredible role model to your children.

Best of luck, you can do it 🌷
