Bluey trainers for 8yo

My 8yo DD2 loves Bluey. She also loves Hamilton, Harry Potter and Grease (for context) but Bluey still grabs her attention.

I’ve seen some lovely Bluey Converse I’m thinking of getting her for Christmas but I’m now wondering if she’ll end up getting comments about them being too babyish from her friends?? She’s probably one of few in her peer group that still loves Bluey. She does have some Bluey pyjamas which she loves but obviously no one else sees her wear these.

Should I go with the cute Bluey converse or should I go with a more neutral option?? They’re not cheap so don’t want to get her them for her to be embarrassed to wear them (although she’s never said anything similar before). For me, 8yo are still young children and should be enjoying cartoons but I know that doesn’t always translate to real life.

Get them. She doesn't have to wear them to school etc, surely she'll get lots of use out of them when she's not around her friends.
Not that I think her mates will overly care but just to say, I don't think it's an issue

In all honesty i would get normal ones not with characters on, they can change interests quickly around that age

Thank you @SleepingStandingUp. I think I’ll go for them, they are lovely.

@mamagogo1yes that’s what I’m thinking. Her last ones (pale blue) have lasted well over a year because they go with most outfits. They are too small now so looking for new ones and I came across the Bluey ones - I can imagine her face when she sees them - she’ll be delighted! But will the last as long 🤔

I wouldn't without consulting her first. If she does say she's too embarrassed to wear them you haven't got a leg to stand on if you didn't ask first. If she wants them then I'd get them.

I showed them to DD this morning and she said ‘Aw they are so cute! We should get them for Dcousin!’ (Who is 4)

That answers that then!!
