Potty training 2 year old

Hi all,

we have been potty training our son for the last few months. He has grasped wee’s so well and has been in pants fully almost since the start. However we have really struggled with getting him to use the potty or toilet for number 2’s. He either goes on the floor or his pants. He gets really upset if we try and put him on the potty or the toilet, it’s got to the stage where sometimes he holds it which can’t be nice for him at all. He’s great at communicating when he needs a wee or a poo we just can’t seem to conquer the last part. My mum seems to think boys struggle with it sometimes more? Any help or guidance from others would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Could he be constipated and it's uncomfortable for him to focus on doing a bowel movement and has an accident when he's more relaxed
