1 year old doesn't like 3 year old

My 18 month old really seems to dislike my 3 year old - he screams if 3yo touches him, does like standing near him, won't hold his hand. I find it so sad as my 3yo is such a lovely big brother and is desperate for a relationship. My eldest has never really been aggressive or hurt the youngest (other than usual occasional over-energeic play!) so it's nothing to do with that. I cant even have them both sat on me for a book as 1yo will try and push his big brother away

Anyone had anything similar? Ive read a lot about the older child not liking the younger, but not much the other way around!

Well 1.5-2.5 year olds are fiercely independent, so I might be as simple as that. He doesn't want to be mothered by someone who isn't mum. Often you get this scenario with parental preference, so I don't think it's that unusual. Hard for you all though.

If he’s pushing DC1 off your knee I would be tempted to put DC2 in the floor if this happens and ignore them and carry on looking at the book wirh DC1.
