Muslins and terry issues

Hello,
I've got a 3 1/2 week old baby boy, and started using some muslins with nippas and motherease wrap for a few changes yesterday, in the origami fold. This seemed successful, had no leaks even though the wrap looked quite loose, but they did seem to soak through quite quickly, and I'm wondering how long I would be able to use them for.
I have bought the large Little Ewe squares and they are massive and very thick. I don't think they would fit under the wraps and would be very bulky, though I haven't actually tried them on him yet. Obviously they'd get used when he's bigger, but I was hoping that a set of muslins and one set of terries would do, - will I have to buy some thinner terries, like the Boots ones?

I am no expert on flat nappies, but could you boost one muslin with another?
I'm thinking you could fold it into an oblong pad and lay it down the centre of the origami'd one...

I use Terries too and know only too well that feeling that babies look ridiculous in the huge Terries when they are so tiny. I think it's just a shock after getting used to the slimline look of the disposables in the hospital.

I used Little Ewes (big size) from the start. At first I used the Jo Fold (I think) where you fold all the corners into the centre and then fold each side in towards the middle (crap explanation but you could look it up on the Nappy Lady site.) This made the nappy small enough for newborns and it did fit under the Motherease airflows.

Another thing I found was that my Little Ewes quickly lost a bit of the bulk from all the washing and so within just a bit of time, DD no longer looked quite so huge in them!

Overall I am really happy with my terries / motherease combo so I hope yours work out as well for you.

Also I don't think it matters if the wrap is quite loose and baggy. I remember worrying that would cause leaks but I now find that if the wrap is getting a bit tight that is more likely to cause a leak.

Thanks,
I'm going to boost the muslins for the time being, and it's reassuring to hear that the big Little Ewes can be used. I've only done one pre-wash, so maybe washing them a couple more times would make them look more feasible?
