Sprowston Recreation Ground

Hi there,

This is very niche but I was wondering if anyone knows much about Sprowston Recreation Ground in the suburbs of Norwich? Specifically the playground.

We went there on Saturday afternoon as we are looking to buy a house in the area and wanted to check it out. There were 3 older kids (roughly 11-13 yrs old) in the playground being really boisterous, shouting and swearing. I get that kids are bored and nothing wrong with them being there but the behaviour made us feel really uncomfortable and they had no awareness of the kids around them..my daughter is only 3 and couldn’t get down the slide as they were climbing all over it.

The experience really put me off and I’m a bit concerned as this would be our local park. Have we just gone on a bad day or is it usually like that? Would really appreciate any info you have, thanks!

You’ll probably get better replies if you join a local FB group and ask there, you’ll also be able to
search the group to see if anyone has posted about any issues. Our local park does occasionally have older kids playing up- but luckily we have a good community and if anyone reports any groups causing issues the local youth workers tend to go down and send them home or report to police if it’s beyond that (rarely is).

Join the Norwich mumbler FB page and ask on there.

Personally I’m not a massive fan of Sprowston but that’s because it’s a city suburb and I’m not a fan of any of them tbh. There are lots of different areas of Sprowston though so perhaps some are better than others? Old Catton is a bit nicer IMO, or the south side of the city, somewhere like Eaton.

Ok thanks for responding, I will try that!
