Having sleep routine issues with 16 month old

Hi everyone,
im currently 16 weeks pregnant with an about to turn 16 month old and really struggling to get him to sleep in his own bed.
We put him down awake for bedtime and he will go to sleep with no issues, he wakes up around 30 minutes later and won’t go back down. I’ll bring him down to the sofa with me and he’ll fall asleep instantly. Once I bring him back up to bed he’ll stay for another 30 minutes and then up again over and over. He climbed out of his crib around a week ago so we lowered the crib.
does anyone know what I can do? He just started getting on like this around 2 weeks ago he used to be such a good sleeper. I’m completely drained and don’t know what to do anymore.
thank you for your time❤️

I wouldn’t take baby out of the room and go the sofa. When he wakes up go to him so he knows you are there and try to pat him back to sleep. Does he have a comforter you could give him when he wakes up?

if my kids used to wake during the night, I didn’t take them out of their rooms. I would try and pat them back to sleep, but if they wanted a cuddle I would pick them up, give them a cuddle and put them back in their cot without talking to them and they would often fall asleep again.

He has a comforter but throws it away, I try patting him back down but he refuses and if I give him a cuddle and pop him back in he’ll just cry for ages

Would you be able to stay in his room and hold him until he falls back asleep and pop him back in cot? Appreciate you're pregnant so would need to be sitting

Oh dear, I remember that when mine was under 1. I had to basically rock him to sleep otherwise he would just fight it so hard. Wish I could give you the magic trick to make them stay asleep but I never found it 😭 my little one at 15 months just all of a sudden started sleeping through. Hopefully you get some helpful advice from here😊

I understand that something that works for one child doesn’t always work for another so sometimes it’s about trying different things.
Could you try playing calming music when he is falling asleep and if he wakes up then play it again while he tries to go back to sleep? He might start to associate that music to sleep time?

can buy that lights up the ceiling with images while playing calming music. something like this:

@Stephs07 hi there, did this resolve? Currently going through the same and losing my mind 😩 my baby has gone from being a great sleeper to now just screaming a couple of hours in to her nighttime sleep. Also won’t settle if I’m sat down! She seems to be getting 2 of her canines right now also.
