Hello FTM here

My 7 week old is always leaking in the night although she’s only had her nappy on for 3 hours?! Should I try the nest size up number 3?

shes 9 pounds and noticed aldi nappies are 8-19 pounds where as size 2 she is in are 6-13?

Have you tried a different brand, aldi are the worst in my opinion. I would switch to pampers for night time and see if it helps

Yes. Or a different brand. The sizes aren’t always consistent across brands so you might find size 2 in a different brand bigger which just happens to be the perfect fit “right now”. Other option is a reusable nappy cover (just the cover from a two part nappy system and use a disposable underneath as usual).

Bigger size. Different brand.
Not one fits all.

No way does a 7 week old need a number 3. Are you sure the number 2 aren't too big? Try a different brand of number 2. I always used pampers because they really are just better quality. You can usually get them on offer in supermarkets

Size 3 is +6 kg.
Not that usual.

Exactly. OP's baby is what, 4kg. I know the shape of baby makes a difference but a 3 would be huge. I'd definitely try another brands 2

It's the new redesigned yellow Aldi nappies. They're hopeless. We have poo leaks almost every poo. Only been a problem since they were redesigned. I've had Tesco and Asda nappies recommended instead so will be giving them a go.

Aldi nappies were terrible for us with DC2. Every single one leaked no matter what we tried. Switched brand and no issues whatsoever!

I'd go with how they fit rather than the size guides and potentially drop back to size 1s. I have a 6 week old who was 6lb12oz a birth but because he had a tiny waist and scrawny legs we were getting leaks out of the size 1 nappies even though they were 4-11lbs, we dropped down to size 0 nappies which were 2-5lb but fitted better than the size 1s. He was 8lbs before we could go back to size 1 nappies.

We had lots of leaks, what helped us:

  • sizing up the moment baby was 1 kg below the top end of weight range of the current band
  • checking that the nappy was put on well (no gaps around legs) and readjusting if needed
  • IMHO the design makes the most difference, Pura and Hello Bello are longer than most other brands and work best for my baby’s shape.
