They are too far apart developmentally.

It is nice if the 7 year old will play with the 2 year old for a while, but they will be doing it to "humour then" as adults do, not to play at their level.

Some activities like chasing balloon or bubbles can be fun with mixed ages, but obviously 2 year olds aren't able to follow rules for more structured games.

Thankyou @CarpetKnees yes it's tricky finding things they can do together or games we can play at home as a family and with winter coming up I'm keen ti

My nearly three year old likes jenga - she likes building the tower back up and I just let her take bricks off the very top row.

I’ve been looking at the Peaceable Kingdom games on Amazon for Christmas - Hoot Owl Hoot is supposed to be good for mixed ages as it’s cooperative and has different difficulties.

Play doh, it’s not really a game, but appropriate for both.

I spy, your 2 year old will need some help, but it’s great for learning sounds and colours.

Probably not suitable for a 2 year old, but my 7 year old loves dominoes.

You could also try Top Trumps, with some help for 2 year old.

Orchard have a few games suitable from age 2, agree though that the 7 yo might not be wholly into these. Maybe ask them to play the game with you all and you’ll play one of their games when DC2 is in bed?

We have Hoot Owl Hoot and it’s fun! Stone Soup is also good - it’s a memory one where they have to find pairs of ingredients. Might be a bit advanced for a just-turned-2, but an almost-3 would be ok.
