6 month old rocking!

Hi everyone ☺️ just wondering if anyone has had the same experience and could maybe help out a little?

my newly 6 month old has started rocking herself back and forth whilst sitting upright. It could be if she is sat on your knee or if she is sat on the floor on her own. She can sit unaided for a time and she is rolling ok etc and starting to babble.

she is my second child and I can’t remember my first ever rocking. She does it constantly pretty much.

I won’t lie I am now starting to be a bit worried about it. The health visitor is due to come next month for her 6-9 month appointment so I will bring it up then, but just wondering if anyone had anything like this just to tide me over until the appointment.

TIA!

Is she trying to bum shuffle? Some of them bum shuffle instead of crawl. Does she also try to rock if on tummy time/all fours? I think it sounds amazing that she is able to support herself unaided well enough to rock. That’s quite impressive for 6 months (both of mine could only sit for like 5 seconds and would tilt and fall over). If she is strong at sitting, my guess would be it’s the movement instinct many babies have when on their tummies.

I don’t think so no! She’s not the fondest of tummy time lol, she gets herself there then cries and that’s about it so she hasn’t even made it to getting up on all fours yet.
