Will I ever be not tired again?

Husband and I thought it would be a wonderful idea to have 2 children in quick succession - HA! Well.

We have a 3 year old and nearly 2 year old and I’m just soooooooo TIRED! All the damn time!!! They actually sleep quite well but we just never seem to rest anymore, life is just go go go and I feel like I never have time to rest. My body feels so much older than it should do these days.

somebody tell me it gets easier when they get older? I love them dearly, but my goodness - let me rest.

Well we haven't got there yet. We've got a two year old and a four year old who are mostly delightful, but busy in the way only little kids can be. I'm shattered.

@Wherethewildthingsright there with you!

I had my first child 17 years ago and I’m still knackered, sorry

tiredaf2 · 15/10/2025 13:14

Oh dear - thought that might be the answer 😅

If you can find time to exercise a few times a week, it really helps. I know it’s hard though

I hear you! I have a 2 year old and am pregnant. The other night I was closing the bedroom curtains at about 9.30pm to go to bed and could see the neighbours opposite sat round their table with friends having a drink and chat, and I thought I literally cannot imagine ever having the energy to have people round socialising at this hour, ever again in my life.

However my parents are retired and have a cracking social life so I do cling onto some hope for the very distant future!

I've a 1 and 3 year old so as tired a everyone else here, but pregnant with a two year old was the tired-est of all! Even with a two year old and a newborn it wasn't as bad!

21 years in and still knackered

Pregnant and also having a 2 year old is the most tired I have ever been in my entire life. I now have a 3 year old and an 8 month old, and said to my husband last night I feel like we've actually got a bit of "our" time back. We're going out 3 times(!!) next month. This is the most we've been out in quick succession since our eldest was born. Don't get me wrong, we'll be home and tucked up in bed for about 10pm at the latest 😂 But I can actually face the idea of going out in an evening again.

My children are two (and three months) and nearly five and I’m starting to see the shore from the midst of the ocean.

Three and one nearly killed me.

I do sometimes think that when both children are at school I will return home, go to bed and just sleep, I probably won’t, though!

Haha I feel ya! Two doors down from us is a retired couple that all summer host BBQs and drinks parties in their garden. It looks glorious. For people who have energy and don't go to bed at 8pm.

Oh lord... so many comments about pregnant and a 2 year old being the toughest 😂 Currently 5 weeks with an 18 month old haha
