16mo who has very disgusting very squitty nappies - is this normal?

My 16mo has for the last couple of weeks had really horrible nappies,

up until now he has been a very regular poo-er, once in the morning and once in the evening,

but at the moment he is having very runny stools which smell disgusting about 6/7 times a day (some days more)

I keep blaming it on his double teeth coming, (he has three doubles so far)
but can this be correct for it to go on for so long?

Would you be worried?

Sorry - should have said that he has been like this for over two weeks.

2 weeks is quite a long time but could be related to a virus or other bug.

Have you changed his diet at all/introduced new foods?

DS3 has periods like this on and off but he does have gut problems....

His diet hasn't changed,
and doesn't seem ill in any way other than the bad nappies

is it something that you would go to the doctor about?

I did with ds3, but didn't get all that far.It could just be a viral infection- they can hang around for a while.

He has the same problems as ds1 so I just manage it myself tbh.

I'd perhaps give some probiotics.

doctors can take stool samples (as soon as I went to get one with ds3 it cleared up).
