Swaddling and sleep - 3 month old

Trying to settle my 3 month old baby without her swaddle has been difficult. She is such a fidget, always sucking on her hands, which results in knocking her dummy out constantly, kicking her legs, waving her arms all over the place, she was just the same when she was in my tummy too!
I have always swaddled her which works a dream, but I read that swaddling should stop at 3 months which I have done and what a pain it has been. She wakes herself up an awful lot now and she slept so well before! I am in two minds on if I should go back to swaddling. Any suggestions on what I can do please?

Have you tried the Love to Dream swaddles? My little girl was exactly the same with fidgeting but these really helped her sleep for longer stretches. They do a transition bag where the arms zip off so they can sleep with one arm in & one arm out to ease them out of being swaddled. You let them sleep with one arm out for a few nights and then take both arms off. It did take my little girl a couple of nights to get used to it but it wasn't as bad as I thought at all and she is very, very wriggly! They are expensive but I definitely thought they were worth it! You can get them on Vinted if you don't mind buying second hand.

We used a swaddle until he was trying to roll over - so if your baby isn't doing that yet you could still use them maybe? I also then used a love to dream swaddle which worked well. Good luck!

You're not meant to use the love to dream swaddle when they start rolling either (unless you unzip their arms so they're not actually swaddled).

My baby started rolling side to side at 8 weeks and we had to unswaddle right away. It was incredibly painful. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do but ride it out. Try the one arm in, one out, but even that is only meant to be done for a little while. At 3 months, she should be rolling fully any day now.
