Any good bikes with stabilisers?

We never did balance bikes with DD (4 years old), instead we had a tricycle. We're now getting her a bike and think she would benefit from stabilisers as she builds up her strength to pedal more outside.

Any recommendations?

I would, actually, recommend one of the slightly larger balance bikes such as the Frog Tadpole +.

My kids never “got” balance bikes (we tried, they both just waddled around awkwardly and refused to lift their feet off the ground and actually balance…) so both learned to ride on an Islabike Cnoc with stabilisers. Both kids were riding without the stabilisers by the time they turned 6.

Sadly I don’t think Islabikes are still manufacturing, but there’s probably still a big second hand market if you look
on eBay. I think Frog are a similar brand with the same principle of lighter weight frames and scaled-down components which make them easier for children to handle.

I'd get a lightweight bike - there are several brands (Squish and Frog, along with second hand islabikes, plus I'm sure others) and take the pedals off. Let's her figure the balance bit - she's already sorted the peddling if she can ride the trike - then fairly soon put the peddles back on.
