Poorly toddler - will I catch it?!

Hi,

Looking for some reassurance / advice. My 3 year old was sick around midnight then again once more at 7am. He’s been off his food since but happy in himself. I have emetophobia so for me this is my worst nightmare, my brain goes into over drive with cleaning, handwashing and I cant bring myself to eat much incase I catch it. Does this sound like a bug to any of you? Seems strange to have such a gap between sickness, when my eldest has a bug he is non stop sick every hour or so and is sick easily over ten times. I think I’m just trying to convince myself my youngest doesn’t have a bug which is probably unlikely due to fact he was sick! Any reassurance or advice would be gratefully received!

each child is very very different you can’t compare in order to try and diagnose. Any fever, diarrhoea?
And do you catch bugs easily from the kids?

fellow emerophobe here - sorry your little one’s been poorly. Even if it is a bug there’s always a good chance you won’t catch it, especially with good hygiene (which tends to be one of our strong suits!).

my youngest has had a couple of sickness bugs in the last year that nooone else caught, including me who was catching his sick in various bowls etc for three days.

lots of fresh air circulating, throw out all toothbrushes and wash towels etc on high heat - bleach loos, floors, taps, handles etc and hopefully you’ll avoid it and they’ll be better super quickly.
