Ds (5) keeps thinking he has done a little wee in his pants

and occasionally he has, but often it just seems to be the sensation of it and his pants are actually dry

this started quite recently and happens quite frequently - sometimes daily. It's a bew thing - he's always been very reliable and doesn't tend to have accidents

when his pants are wet he cheerfully goes to change them
doesn't seem to particularly be because he is desperate to go, or is holding on too long
I don't think so anyway because I tell him to go to the loo after it happens and there doesn't seem to be any urgency

it is only ever a drop, or just in his imagination

he says 'it just came out by itself'

???
I don't know what's going on, could it be an infection or something?

I know it isn't thrilling, but any ideas?

perhaps it is a phase and will pass?

Franny I don't know but bumping for you in case someone else does. I think I might mention it to the doctor/nurse if it carries on, just in case it is a sign of anything

WigWamBam · 04/06/2008 09:23

Urine infection is the first thing which springs to my mind. Might be worth taking a sample to the GP and getting it checked out.

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 10:43

thanks Tatties and WWB
i hadn't thought of taking a sample, he would love that as he sees the midwife testing mine and thinks it very exciting!
I was thinking more that they would have to examine his penis and perhaps take a swab and of course he would HATE that

but I think I will see if we can take a sample in

ALovelyPear · 06/06/2008 19:29

How's it going with ds now Franny?

FrannyandZucchini · 06/06/2008 21:03

nothing new Tatties, just every day or two (or sometimes twice a day) he says he has done a little wee, and sometimes he has

it's been going on for weeks, it only now occurred to me perhaps I should do something about it

ALovelyPear · 06/06/2008 21:08

You don't really worry though or necessarily think to check it out unless there's pain or or if something looks different, do you?
